Attorney Melissa Averett of Averett Family Law has been selected to the 2018 North Carolina Super Lawyers list. Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are chosen by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this award.

Family law is always evolving and becoming more challenging every year, so I am humbled that I was nominated by my peers.” In addition to her regular practice, Averett is on the NC Bar Executive Committee of the Family Law Council and chairs the Domestic Violence Issues Committee. Averett also speaks on family law issues locally and internationally, most recently addressing the 2017 Annual Family Law meeting of the Victoria, Australia Bar. She is scheduled to speak at the Annual Family Law meeting of the NC Family Law Bar in May, 2018.
